SPC basketball hosts Midland College Thursday at Texan Dome
LEVELLAND – The South Plains College Texan and Lady Texan basketball teams return home on Thursday to take on rival Midland College at the Texan Dome.  Game time is 5:45 p.m. for the women and 7:45 p.m. for the men.

A meal for all employees of South Plains College will be available from 5-6:30 p.m., courtesy of Thursday night's game sponsor, Mike Mamantov and Ameriprise Financial.  Employees can also register to win cash prizes that will be drawn for at each half.  Winners must be present to claim their prize.

The second-ranked Texans (19-1, 6-0 WJCAC) are coming off yet another hard fought win, this time on the road in Borger against Frank Phillips College where they held on for a 90-82 victory.

Midland College (10-9, 2-4) is coming off an 82-64 loss at the hands of Odessa College but also recently upset New Mexico 76-66 Jan. 16 in Midland.

The Texans have a 15-14 record against the Chaparrals since Steve Green took over the reins of the Texan program nearly 14 years ago and have won four straight against their bitter rivals.

The Lady Texans (9-9, 3-2) look to rebound from their recent 68-62 loss Monday night at Frank Phillips College.  The SPC women have last two-of-three, but can get back on track with a victory over a Midland team that has seen their own struggles with two consecutive losses as well as a sub-500 record in the WJCAC.

The Lady Chaps are 12-8 overall, but only 2-3 in league play.  The two teams split their games last year, with the home team winning each game.  South Plains and Midland also tied for the conference championship with New Mexico last season.

Live video for both games will be available on www.spctexans.com.  Fans can also listen to KLVT Radio's Michael Wiiest call the action live on 1230 AM as well as online atwww.klvtradio.com.
