Lady Texans post wins over Madison and Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Lady Texans completed their Phoenix, Ariz. road trip by posting consecutive victories over Madison Area Tech (WI) and Scottsdale and now return to Levelland to prepare for the conference schedule that lies ahead.

 

On Monday, Dec. 30, South Plains rebounded from a 62-55 loss to Mesa College by defeating Madison 76-66 on day two of the Bill Culver Classic that was hosted by Scottsdale Community College.

The Lady Texans received 29 points from Jasmine Brainardwhile also getting double-digit performances from Alexius Dawn and TaSheena Moore.  Dawn posted 18 points, while Moore chipped in with 15.

 

In the final day of the Bill Culver Classic, the Lady Texans earned a 13-point victory over tournament host Scottsdale, 66-53.

 

South Plains was once again led by Brainard, Moore, and Dawn in the victory over the Lady Artichokes as Moore posted a team high 20 and Brainard and Dawn added 18 and 15 points, respectively. 

 

The Lady Texans finished their road trip with a 3-1 record and will now enter their conference schedule with an overall record of 7-7 on the season.

 

The Lady Texans are scheduled to host Howard College Monday, Jan. 6 at the Texan Dome.  Tipoff is set for 5:45 p.m.
