#2 Texans stay perfect, oust Hill 89-59 Saturday in Plano

PLANO — Four players netted double figures on the offensive end as the second-ranked South Plains College men's basketball team throttled Hill College 89-59 to close out their road stint at Cougar Gymnasium Saturday.

The Texans improve to 10-0 on the season and will be back on the road next weekend, as they are set to do battle with No. 13 Indian Hills on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. in Ottumwa, Iowa. South Plains will then take on Sauk Valley Community College on Dec. 2 at 4:30 p.m. Both games will stream live at spctexans.com

South Plains saw four players net 15 points on Saturday, including Malique Ewin, Jaborii Mcghee, Kerwin Prince, and Jalen Hampton. Mcghee has now scored in double figures in five straight games, and nine times this season.

Look ahead: The Texans will face their toughest test of the season to date when they square off with Indian Hills, who comes in with a record of 5-2, with their two sole losses coming to No. 1 Northwest Florida, and No. 5 Vincennes. Indian Hills is averaging 81 points per game and is unbeaten at home this season. The Texans will look to stay perfect, as they come in averaging 87.8 points per game, and are shooting 53.3 percent from the field on the year.
