#2 Texans fall to Lamar State College-Port Arthur 84-78

PLANO — The second-ranked South Plains College men's basketball team fell to Lamar State College-Port Arthur 84-78 Saturday at the East-West Challenge at Cougar Gymnasium on the campus of Collin College.

The Texans will look to get back to their winning ways when they play on their home floor for the first time this season on Friday, Nov. 19 against Monroe College at 6:30 p.m. SPC will then host Dallas College-North Lake at 1 p.m. on Nov. 20 at the Texan Dome. Both games will stream live at spctexans.com.

Jaylin Reed led South Plains on the offensive end, recording a season-high 25 points, connecting on 10 of 16 shots from the floor, and was 5 of 9 from distance. Eric Coleman Jr. posted 22 points, bucketing 6 of 10 shots, knocking down a trio of 3s, and was 7 of 8 from the charity stripe.

Jaden Harris tallied 12 points and seven boards, finishing 3 of 10 from the field and was 4 of 6 from the free throw line. Marcus Burnett netted 12 points on 5 of 11 shooting and also snagged six boards and handed out four assists for South Plains.
