Texans took the lead early in the game, which created a distance between them and Clarendon that the Bulldogs could not match.
David Kadiri's 23 points and 9 rebounds lead the Texans over the Bulldogs. Pat Birt added 15 points and two rebounds, along with Brandon Neel's 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Clarendon fought against the Texans defense with the intent to close in the score, veering close a few times, but South Plains held their dominance with a 38-26 lead in the first half.
After a set of free throws shot by the Bulldogs a minute into the second half, did not put up points again until six minutes later. Letting the Texans increase their lead by 22 points over the Bulldogs.
South Plains played aggressive defense over Clarendon causing 25 turnovers for the Bulldogs.
