The crucial conference victory gave South Plains their eighth consecutive win.

Andre Spight hit double-digits, putting down 26 points for the Texans. Teammate Emmanuel Omogobo was close to Spight in points, putting down 24 points and 17 rebounds. Making his rebounds against Howard a personal high for Omogobo.

Adding 11 points each, Pat Birt and Lincoln Davis hit double digits and helped increase the Texans score with impressive plays in the first half.

Birt had two three-point shots in a row that helped the Texans close the gap that Howard had created.

Davis comes back in with five minutes left in the first half and goes straight to the board. With a fast break and a foul by Howard, Davis makes a 2-and-1 play putting the Texans up by four.

The second half of the game was where Spight excelled. He had not one, but four three-point plays. Sinking two back-to-back three's put the Texans ahead by 10. Then a 2-and-1 play marked the third and with 10 minutes left to go Spight sinks his fourth to put the Texans up 63-47.

With less than two minutes remaining in the game Howard decided to press South Plains. Leaving Brandon Neel wide open down low for a clear pass from Davis allowing Neel a dunk for two.

With only 17 seconds left on the clock, Spight puts in another three, but this one was only a quarter away from the half court line set the Texans ahead 90-75.
