LEVELLAND – South Plains College Texan point guard Devonte Smith will announce where he plans to continue his academic and athletic pursuits in a ceremony scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday April 25 in the T-Club lounge, located inside the Texan Dome.
In two seasons with the Texans, Smith was a starter in each of the 65 games he participated in, averaging nearly 32 minutes per contest and more than five assists per game. Smith fell just eight assists shy of Landon Tatum's record for assists in a season with 343 during his two seasons.
During his freshman campaign, Smith helped guide South Plains to an undefeated record of 36-0 as well as the NJCAA Tournament Championship and was awarded as the Outstanding Small Player of the tournament.
The signing ceremony is open to anyone wishing to attend.
