Texans and Lady Texans look to rebound at home on Best Western Night
LEVELLAND – The South Plains College Texan and Lady Texan basketball teams have been playing a lot of basketball lately, seeing little time off between games, as the SPC men have played four games in the last eight days and the women three games in five.

Both teams are coming off losses Monday night at New Mexico and the grueling tour is set to continue when South Plains hosts Western Texas College Thursday evening in a pair of games sponsored by the Best Western South Plains Inns and Suites of Levelland.

Best Western has donated a variety of gift cards that will be given away at halftime of each of the Texan and Lady Texan games as well as t-shirts that will be thrown to the crowd by the Texan Cheerleaders during the games.

The Texans and Lady Texans are both looking to bounce back from losses Monday night at New Mexico where the Lady Texans rallied from 21 down, but came up short in a 66-62 loss.  The Texans got off to a good start against the T-Birds, but were also on the losing end of a 60-47 loss.

The loss snapped an eight-game winning streak for the Lady Texans, ranked No. 20 in the most recent NJCAA poll released Jan. 8.  For the eleventh-ranked Texans, it was their fourth loss in seven games.

The Lady Westerners (8-11, 1-3 WJCAC) defeated Clarendon 80-67 Monday night, snapping a five game losing streak to earn their first conference victory, while the WTC men (11-7, 1-3) enter the game two games under .500 in conference play.

Both games will be streamed live over the Internet at www.spctexans.com with KLVT Radio's Michael Wiiest calling the action.  Fans can also tune their radio dial to KLVT 1230 AM.  A live stats link will also be available at www.spctexans.com.
