Texans trounce Artichokes 89-66
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The South Plains College Texans showed their dominance early against Scottsdale Community College by scoring the first 11 points of the game before jumping out to a 22-3 lead in the first eight minutes of the game. SPC would take a 21 point lead into halftime.

The Texans would extend their lead by as many as 30 points before cruising to a 89-66 victory, thanks in large part to freshman guard Derrell Edwards who scored a game high 25 points while making 9-of-11 shots from the field. Malcolm Milleradded 20 points.

As a team the Texans made 33-of-62 shots from the field, including 7-of-15 from beyond the arc and also shot 80-percent from the free throw line.

With the win South Plains improves their record to 9-4 on the season and will face Phoenix College (9-5) Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. CST. Live stats for the game will be available at www.spctexans.com.
