Texans Rout Northern Oklahoma College-Enid 85-70

WEATHERFORD, Okla. - The South Plains College Texans moved to 2-0 as they were victorious in their first road contest of the year, easily handling Northern Oklahoma College-Enid 85-70.

Sophomore transfer Brandon Thompsonled all Texan scorers with 24 points, whileKenny Brown, one of only two Texans returning from last year's squad, recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman newcomersGreg Gainey(14 points),Deshaunt Walker(13 points), andDerrell Edwards(12 points) each scored in double figures to help SPC to the win.

As a team, the Texans made 18-of-20 (.900) free throw attempts.

The Texans will play Redlands Community College Monday afternoon at 1 p.m. before returning home, where they will face University of the Southwest's junior varsity squad on Wednesday, November 10th at 6:30 p.m.
