LEVELLAND, Texas - The South Plains College Texan and Lady Texan basketball teams have spent the majority of the fall semester honing their skills in hopes for successful seasons. With November fast approaching, it is nearly time for them to apply what they have learned in practice to game situations.
The Texan basketball squad will be the first to do that when they open their season at the Texan Dome on Tuesday, November 2 at 7 p.m. against Lubbock Christian University's junior varsity squad.
(Click 'Read More' to find a schedule and additional info)For fans of the Texans and Lady Texans, this will also be a terrific opportunity to meet the athletes from every sport as the athletic department will host its annual 'Meet the Texans BBQ Roundup' beginning at 5:30 p.m. Fantastic barbecue prepared by teams participating in the barbecue cook-off contest will be available for $6 per plate for adults (12 and up), and $3 for children (6-11). Children ages 5-11 will receive free hot dogs.
Each adult ticket will include an opportunity to win a trip for two to Las Vegas, courtesy of International Tours of Levelland.
