Levelland's Rosemond Signs with SPC
LEVELLAND, Texas - In a brief ceremony Thursday afternoon at Levelland High School, LHS senior Tavian Rosemond signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for the South Plains College Texans beginning in the fall semester.

Rosemond was a two-year varsity performer at Estacado High School before moving to Levelland prior to his senior year. Unfortunately, he was sidelined due to eligibility issues this past season.

However, Rosemond, a 6-8 post, worked out daily with the Lobos basketball team and on game days was one of their emotional leaders.

"He was a leader on the court and at games as far as getting guys ready to play," says LHS basketball coach Jeff Bontrager. "In practice he was a good challenge for our post players to go up against. He was definitely a plus for our team."

As a junior, Rosemond averaged 10 points, six rebounds and three blocks per game for an Estacado squad that reached the State Championship game before losing to Dallas Madison in the finals.

"I saw him play his junior year at Estacado at the state playoffs," SPC Texan head coach Steve Green said, "I thought he had some promise and some prospects. He's extremely athletic, and he's eager to play after sitting out a year."

Green said that Rosemond would probably play a forward position for the Texans.

"We'll work with him on his jump shot and have him facing the basket," Green said. "He's probably not big enough to play the post position at our level."
