Texans Improve to 7-1 With Win against Lubbock Christian JV

LUBBOCK, Texas - The South Plains College Texans improved to 7-1 on the season with an 81-46 win over Lubbock Christian Universities junior varsity squad. The game was a tune up for the Texans upcoming Thanksgiving trip to Plano where they will play tournament host Collin County at 8 p.m. Friday and then Grayson at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Freshman point guard Josh Orta led five Texans who scored in double figures with 17 points and nine assists. Antwain Thomas made five three pointers on his was to adding 15 points, while sophomore Tramar Sutherland scored 12 points while playing a game high 35 minutes.

Bo Ingram and Kenny Brown added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
