Texans Clobber Clarendon 105-64
CLARENDON, Texas - The South Plains College Texans returned to Western Junior College Athletic Conference play by dominating the Clarendon College bulldogs 105-64.  The victory improves the Texans to 14-1 overall and 2-1 in WJCAC competitions.
 
Clarendon kept the game close for the first nine minutes, at one time even knotting the score at 12-12.  The Texans then finished the first half on a 37-15 run, going into halftime with a 49-27 lead.  South Plains did not slack off in the second half as they went on to a 105-64 victory.
 
Louisianna native Hugh Mingo led all scorers with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting in just under 15 minutes of play.  Freshman Bo Ingram added 14 points, while Ladarius Hall, Antwain Thomas and Myles Walker each chipped in with 13.  David Tairu and Landon Tatum each scored eight points.  Tatum was a perfect 4-of-4 from the field and also dished out a game high eight assists.  Also for SPC, Allan Thomas scored six points, Markhuri Sanders-Frison added four, Josip Vranes added three, while Philip Outley and Romel Kemp each chipped in with two points.
 
The Texans return to the Texan Dome on Monday, January 12 where they will face the New Mexico Military Institue.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be aired live on KLVT 1230 AM and www.hprnetwork.com.
