PHOENIX, Ariz. - The South Plains College Texans held off Chandler-Gilbert Community College 92-88 to advance to the championship game of the Scottsdale Holiday Classic.  The Texans will face tournament host Scottsdale in the final at 8:00 p.m. (MST) on Saturday, January 3.

The Texans were led by sophomore David Tairu who scored 23 points and also added seven rebounds.  Ladarius Hall added 12 points and Myles Walker scored ten.  Also for SPC, Tramar Sutherland scored nine points and added a team high 10 rebounds, Landon Tatum also added nine and dished out a team high seven assists,  Markhuri Sanders-Frison added seven points, Romel Kemp and Phil Outley each scored six points, Antwain Thomas tallied five points, and Hugh Mingo three.

The Texans are now 12-1 on the season.
