Texans Roll Past South Mountain 98-42

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz - The South Plains College Texans began the New Year with a bang as they whipped South Mountain 98-42 to open the Scottsdale Holiday Classic.  The win improves the Texans overall record to 11-1.
 
It was a total team effort as six Texans scored in double figures.  Leading the way was Myles Walker who scored 24 points and also led the team in rebounding with 13.  Sophomore David Tairu nailed 5-of-6 from beyon the 3-point line on his way to scoring 15, while Ladarius Hall added 13 points and eight rebounds.  Bo Ingram scored 12 points for the Texans, Landon Tatum added 11 points and eight assists, while Allan Thomas scored ten.  Also for SPC, Tramar Sutherland scored eight points and brought down nine rebounds, Antwain Thomas scored three and Romel Kemp added two.
 
The Texans advance to play Chandler-Gilber at 6:00 p.m. (MST) on January 2.
