Texans Hold Off Westerners

SNYDER, Texas - The ninth ranked and defending NJCAA champions got all they could handle from Western Texas College Wednesday night, but as champions routinely do, South Plains College found a way to win to return to Levelland undefeated on the season.  The Texans are now 10-0 overall and 1-0 in the WJCAC.

South Plains College trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half, but managed to decrease that deficit to five points by intermission.  The Texans proceeded to outscore the Westerners by 17 points in the second half to win 58-46.

Freshman forward Bo Ingram led South Plains with 18 points and seven rebounds while playing 35 minutes.  Landon Tatum scored 16 points and David Tairu added 11.  Also for SPC, Markhuri Sanders-Frison scored six points, Hugh Mingo added five, while Tramar Sutherland added two points.

The Texans return to the Texan Dome to play Odessa College at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6.  Fans are in for another great game, but will also be in the presence of one of South Plains' greatest players as Bo Outlaw will be in attendance.  At halftime, Bo will be inducted into the WJCAC and Texan Hall of Fames and will be signing autographs after the game.
