Texan track and field team puts down four top 10 finishes at the 96th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas — The South Plains College men's track and field team posted four top 10 finishes over the weekend in the capital city, competing at the 96th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Freshman Mouhameth Fall won the section b men's triple jump, posting a national qualifying mark and the top jump of 50' 9.5". In the men's mile run, freshman Hamdani Benahmed went 4:02.42 to take second and holds the second-fastest 1500-meter time in the NJCAA at 3:44.46.

In section b of the men's discus, freshman Shamar Reid took second overall with a throw of 177' 1". In the men's 4x800 relay, Benahmed, Stefan Camejo, Ainsley Campbell, and Matthew Gordon went 7:34.26 for the Texans, good enough for fifth place. In the men's 4x200, Waly Bathily, Harry Crosby, Noah Lawson, and Gregory Prince put down a 1:24.17 to take seventh.

In the men's javelin, freshman Jaime Moreno posted the top mark in the NJCAA, turning in a final throw of 218' 9", good enough for ninth.
