"It's not common for someone to come out in their first meet this late in the season and do what Andrew Stone was able to do, but we are glad to have him, and he did great in his debut," South Plains head coach Erik Vance said. "We were looking for a little more from Isaiah, but he did really well for us in the hurdles as well, so I was happy with what he was able to do."

In the men's mile, freshman Harndani Benahmed was second with a time of 4:08.90, while freshman Mouatez Sikiou was fifth in the men's 600 yards, posting a 1:10.72.

"Our kids are starting to come together on the track, and I'm really happy with where our distance crew is at," Vance said. "We are focused on putting down some marks that are near the top in the country and work on solidifying ourselves. Lilian ran really well in the women's 5000, and then Lilliana came back on Saturday and ran really well for us in the mile. Overall we were able to post some good times and get some kids qualified, so I'm happy with how we competed this weekend."
