Lady Texan rodeo signs Levelland senior Kenzee Kent

LEVELLAND — The South Plains College women's rodeo team added a local talent to their roster for the 2018-2019 season in Kenzee Kent, a senior at Levelland High School who will compete for the Lady Texans next season.

Kent will compete for South Plains in barrel racing, goat tying, and breakaway roping as she joins a Lady Texan program who currently sits atop the Southwest Regional standings with four rodeos remaining before nationals. The Lady Texans have racked up 1,381 points to date, as Tarleton State sits in second with 979 points, followed by Eastern New Mexico, Weatherford College, and Texas Tech.

"We are very excited to sign Kenzee and have her be a part of our program," South Plains head coach Kerry Doster said. "She's had the opportunity to come hang out with us at practice for the past couple of years, and she has a good idea about how our program works and knows our system."
